Matt O’Rourke is an Associate in the firm’s Employment & Labor group.  Matt’s practice focuses on employment litigation, counseling clients on employment policies and practices, and traditional labor.

Mr. O’Rourke counsels clients on many employment and human resources matters, including wage and hour, discipline and discharge, and employee handbooks.  He has also counseled clients who faced unfair labor practice charges, and obtained dismissal of those charges before a complaint was issued.

As a litigator, Matt has worked with clients to achieve successful results, with dismissals, wins on summary judgment, wins on appeal, and favorable settlements.  These include claims of discrimination, wrongful discharge, breach of contract, fraud, defamation, and constitutional violations. He has briefed cases for state and federal trial courts, the Michigan Court of Appeals, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
