Legal Administrative Assistant – Grand Rapids Office

Miller Johnson, one of West Michigan’s largest full service law firms, is seeking experienced full-time Legal Administrative Assistants for our downtown Grand Rapids office.


  • Coordinating administrative and legal practice tasks and projects for attorneys
  • Calendaring meetings, deadlines, conference calls, tasks, appointments; preparing new client intake materials; opening new client matters; billing activities; client interaction by phone, email, and in person
  • Preparing, editing, proofreading, and assembling legal documents and correspondence (requiring use of digital dictation/transcription)
  • Preparing and filing court documents including electronic filing through Electronic Case Files (ECF)


  • Minimum of 2 years administrative experience
  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Corporate and Litigation skills a plus
  • Excellent grammar and communication skills
  • Knowledge of court and agency processes and procedures
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Exceptional client service, discretion, and judgment to ensure client confidentiality
  • Flexibility and teamwork in a fast-paced environment

Employee Benefits Associate Attorney (Grand Rapids Office)

Miller Johnson, one of West Michigan’s largest, full service law firms has an immediate opening in the employee benefits practice group for their Grand Rapids office for an entry level associate with up to 3 years of experience.  The attorney position will work in all areas of employee benefits and executive compensation, including retirement benefits and health and welfare benefits. The successful candidate will have excelled in law school courses regarding tax, employee benefits and insurance law.  Post-graduate work experience in employee benefits, with experience in health and welfare benefits areas a plus.  Excellent academic credentials are required, as well as good writing and communication skills.
