Miller Johnson Adds Schallip, Belsito to M&A Practice
Miller Johnson has added two attorneys in the firm’s growing Mergers & Acquisitions practice. Benton M. Schallip and Joseph E. Belsito provide big law and in-house counsel experience to serve on business transactions and corporate entity work for Miller Johnson’s clients.
Benton M. Schallip represents corporate clients and privately owned businesses in asset transfers, joint ventures and divestitures, transfer of stock, and “buy-side” and “sell-side” deals. In his finance practice, he represents borrowers and lenders in asset-based finance facilities, acquisition finance, cash flow lending, bilateral and syndicated loan transactions, and financing for start-up ventures. Mr. Schallip was awarded his J.D. from the University of Notre Dame Law School in 2014. He lives in Cincinnati, Ohio, and is licensed to practice in Ohio, Illinois, and Michigan.
Joseph E. Belsito represents private companies in the structured acquisition and divestiture of assets and businesses, joint ventures, and other strategic combinations and sales. He has counseled clients in stock and membership interest purchase and sales, asset purchases and sales, leveraged buyouts, privately financed acquisitions, management buyouts, and sales to family and key employees. Mr. Belsito counsels closely held and family owned businesses in pre-formation and strategic planning, entity formation and structuring, corporate governance, officer and directors’ duties, ownership rights, litigation prevention, ownership transfers, and succession planning. He earned his J. D., magna cum laude, from the Michigan State University College of Law and lives in Cascade Township, Michigan, and is licensed in Michigan.
