Michael Penny is an Associate in Miller Johnson’s business corporate section and part of the mergers and acquisitions (M&A) team.

Mr. Penny will assist clients in the operation of their business.  This includes commercial contracts and agreements, entity formation, licensing and tax issues as well as general business matters.  He will work with employers ranging from closely held and family owned to publicly traded as well as individuals and non-profit organizations.

Honors

Mr. Penny has been named as a 2024 Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch for Corporate Law and Mergers and Acquisitions Law.

Education

Mr. Penny is a graduate of Michigan State University College of Law where he earned his J.D. magna cum laude in 2018.  He was a member of the Journal of Business and Securities Law as well as the 2016 Tax Clinic.

Mr. Penny received a B.A. degree in Business Administration from Aquinas College in 2013.  His leadership at Aquinas College included being the Captain of the Varsity Baseball Team.

Community Activities

Mr. Penny previously volunteered with student tutoring and literacy in Grand Rapids and Lansing, Michigan.
