Miller Johnson represents Mutual Screw & Supply LLC in the acquisition of Harry Migdal, Inc. d/b/a Mutual Screw
The Transaction
In January 2023, Mutual Screw & Supply LLC completed the acquisition of Harry Migdal, Inc. d/b/a Mutual Screw, a 75-year-old fastener distributor located in Rochelle Park, NJ. The company was founded in 1947, serving a wide variety of end-markets with industrial products and supplies.

Mutual Screw & Supply LLC
The Company opened its doors in April of 1947, originally known as Mutual Screw & Hardware. Started by the father and son team of Harry & Herbert Migdal, the Company concentrated on the furniture and dinette industry in the New York City metropolitan area, eventually taking the business name of Harry Migdal, Inc. In addition to manufacturing certain fasteners, the Company stocked and distributed hinges, levelers, draw pulls and tools.
As manufacturing began to leave the New York area, the focus of the business changed to the distribution of fasteners and related supplies to hardware stores, lumber yards, and the electrical supply industry. By 1960, the business had moved to a multistory building in the SoHo section of lower Manhattan. The Company moved to New Jersey in the 1980s, where it still is headquartered.
The business grew substantially over the next 40 years, including through successful mergers and acquisitions of the Riteloc Company, All Fasteners, and Universal Fasteners Service and Supply.
Today, Mutual Screw & Supply’s management team includes Mark Warner, Herb Migdal’s son in law who has been in the fastener industry since 1971, and David Kaplan, who grew up in the fastener industry as his father was an officer and purchasing manager with the former Atlas Screw & Specialty Corporation, Elizabeth, NJ.
