Angela Caulley is an Associate in the business section starting her practice with the probate and estate planning practice group.
Ms. Caulley works with clients during the planning process to match their goals with their financial circumstances. She will assist with drafting documents to manage clients’ assets and plan for their individual and family’s needs. Ms. Caulley also assists with the probate process to assure that details are handled in accordance with their loved ones’ plan, and works with the elder law practice group on issues like Medicaid and disability planning.
Professional Affiliations and Activities
Ms. Caulley is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the Grand Rapids Bar Association Young Lawyers and the Women Lawyers Association. She was a judicial extern to the Honorable Curtis J. Bell in the Kalamazoo County Probate Court.
Ms. Caulley has written two articles both of which will be published soon. These include:
- “Policing the Prenup: When Love at First Sight Deserves a Second Look,” Women’s Rights Law Reporter, expected in 2018
- “Put the Child First Again: Joint Custody Presumptions and the Need for Reform,” Boston University Public Interest Law Journal, expected in 2018
Ms. Caulley is admitted to practice in Michigan.
Ms. Caulley was a high school mathematics instructor for four years at St. Philip Catholic Central High School in Battle Creek, Michigan. During that time, she was an advisor to the Model United Nations Club. Ms. Caulley is currently the Finance Advisor to Sigma Kappa Sorority at Grand Valley State University.
Ms. Caulley earned her J.D. summa cum laude from Michigan State University College of Law in 2017. She received Jurisprudence Achievement Awards for Contracts; Family Law: Child, Family and the State; Family Law: Marriage and Divorce; and Business Enterprises and was awarded Best Oralist in Advocacy. While in law school, Ms. Caulley was a Dean Charles H. King Scholar (recognizes high academic achievement). She was an Editor of the Michigan State Law Review and served on the Senior Editorial Board as the Senior Symposia Editor. She was also actively involved in Moot Court and her recognitions include ABA Regional Champion (2016), Chicago Bar Semi-finalist (2016), ABA Regional Finalist (2017) and ABA Regional Best Brief Award (2017).
Ms. Caulley received her B.S. degrees in Mathematics and Psychology from Grand Valley State University in 2010.
