Andrew D. Oostema
Andrew D. Oostema is a Member of the Miller Johnson’s litigation section and he has been representing clients in civil disputes in State and Federal Courts since 2005.
Between 2005 and 2011, Mr. Oostema practiced primarily in the area of civil litigation defense. He was involved in litigation regarding a wide variety of matters including automobile negligence, products liability, Michigan no-fault benefits, medical malpractice, workers compensation, insurance coverage and professional liability. Mr. Oostema handled all aspects of litigation from pleading and discovery to trials and appeals.
Healthcare Reimbursement
After joining Miller Johnson in 2011, Mr. Oostema continued his litigation practice and further specialized in the area of healthcare reimbursement litigation. He counsels his medical provider clients on all aspects of the commercial claims revenue cycle, and he regularly represents medical providers in litigation brought by, and initiated against, commercial insurers regarding unpaid or underpaid medical charges. Mr. Oostema’s experience representing stake holders on both sides of medical charge litigation gives him a unique perspective and allows him to deliver efficient and revenue positive outcomes for his healthcare provider clients.

Mr. Oostema is a member of the Federal Bar for the Western and Eastern Districts of Michigan, State Bar of Michigan, and the Grand Rapids Bar Association. He is active in his community.
