Michigan Growth Advisors – Latest News – Notice of Funding Opportunity: Inclusive Entrepreneurship Support Grant
The State will deploy $8.8M in grant funding to support small business development initiative across the state through $250,000 to $2,500,000 grants. The funding round will be highly competitive seeking projects with the greatest economic impact, including job creation and retention, wages, capital investment, increased revenue as a result of the project, and overall regional impact. The State of Michigan is targeting businesses that are located in geographically disadvantaged business areas, or businesses that are owned by veterans, service-disabled veterans, disabled individuals, members of the LGBTQIA+ Community, or by individuals whose primary language is not English.
Funding can be used for hard construction costs, payroll and other operating costs, infrastructure, machinery and equipment, furniture and fixtures, and talent recruitment and training costs. All small businesses in targeted sectors are eligible to apply for funding.
Eligible Applicants include:
- Be registered to do business in Michigan
- Be a small Business with 500 employees or less
- Be in good standing with all state departments
Target Sectors for funding include:
- Urban and Rural Mobility Electrification and EV Charging Infrastructure
- Clean energy
- Infrastructure, including Affordable Housing and Regional/Public Transit
- Post-Secondary Education Attainment
- Talent Attraction and Retention
- Healthcare Innovation
- Childcare
- Advanced Manufacturing – Defense, Aerospace, Advanced Materials
- Mobility and Automotive Manufacturing
- Semiconductor Technology
- Cybersecurity
- Life Sciences and Medical Device
- Engineering, Design and Development
- Professional and Corporate Services
Applications went live on February 5, 2024 and will be accepted through February 23, 2024.
