Maxwell Barnes Named “Go To Lawyer” for Cannabis Law

Maxwell Barnes has been selected as a 2024 “Go To Lawyer” for Cannabis Law in Michigan by Michigan Lawyers Weekly.

Mr. Barnes is a Member of Miller Johnson’s Business and Corporate and Mergers & Acquisitions practice in the Grand Rapids office. His experience focuses on the areas of mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and general business matters.  Mr. Barnes advises cannabis clients on issues related to entity formation, contract negotiations, raising capital and regulatory issues related to the cannabis industry.

Mr. Barnes is only one of 17 select honorees to be profiled in a special section that will appear in the July 29 print and digital editions.

In addition to this most recent honor, Mr. Barnes is listed in the “Best Lawyers in America®” for Mergers & Acquisitions, Closely Held Companies and Family Business Law as well as Venture Capital Law.  He was named as Best Lawyers 2022 Grand Rapids Lawyer of the year for Closely Held Companies and Family Business Law. He was selected for inclusion in Michigan Super Lawyers–Rising Stars for Business/ Corporate in 2010.
