Jachym Named a Leadership Council on Legal Diversity Fellow

Miller Johnson is pleased to announce that Aimee J. Jachym has been named a member of the 2022 class of Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) Fellows. Launched in 2011, this landmark program is an intensive, yearlong professional development program that mentors the legal industry’s diverse leaders of tomorrow. Designed for lawyers with eight to 15 years of experience, the program connects high-potential attorneys with leading general counsel and managing partners, and their peers for mentoring and career guidance.

“We are so delighted that Aimee will participate in the LCLD Fellows program,” said Amy E. Murphy and Kevin D. Battle, co-chairs of Miller Johnson’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee. “Aimee has shown a steadfast commitment to leadership and relationship-building throughout her career, and we are confident she will be a very worthy mentor to those who follow her, both within and outside of our organization.”

LCLD President Robert J. Grey Jr. added that, while the LCLD Fellows program “requires a serious time commitment from its participants, they will come away from it having learned from top leaders in the legal profession, as well as experts in the fields of learning and development and executive coaching, on what it means to be a leader.”

Ms. Jachym is one of 426 Fellows named to the 2022 class. Selected from among LCLD member corporations and law firms, she will participate in virtual and in-person class meetings, with opportunities to interact with key legal and business leaders of large U.S. corporations, and leadership lunches hosted by LCLD Member organizations featuring a managing partner or general counsel.

Celebrating 11 years, the LCLD Fellows program has built a reputation for helping to launch participants into chief legal positions. More than 50 alumni of the program have become general counsel, managing partners or judges, or have opened their own firms since their fellowship year.

Ms. Jachym is a Member in Miller Johnson’s Business and Corporate practice representing businesses in commercial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and compliance matters. Using her background in business and international affairs to meet the needs of local and global clients, Ms. Jachym counsels businesses of all sizes, including public institutions and start-ups, in diverse matters ranging from contract negotiations to regulatory matters and complex agreements. She serves as outside general counsel to several corporate clients and advises owners of privately-held entities on ownership issues, corporate governance, and succession planning.

Ms. Jachym’s community and organization service includes being appointed to the Southwest Michigan First Board of Directors, the Kalamazoo Symphony Board of Directors, the Community Homeworks Board of Directors, serving as the Co-Founder, Past President and on the Board of Directors for the Korean Kids & Orphanage Outreach Mission (KKOOM), and past service on the Read and Write Kalamazoo Fund Development Committee, the Korean Connection Board of Directors, and in Leadership Kalamazoo’s Class of 2018.

LCLD Fellows are selected by the general counsel and managing partners at LCLD member corporations and law firms. Within their organizations, Fellows have distinguished themselves from others by being deeply engaged, indispensable to key clients and teams, invested in attorney mentoring and professional development, and on a trajectory towards leadership positions.
