Going PRO Talent Fund Second Cycle Application Period Now Open

Applications for the second cycle of the Fiscal Year 2023 Going PRO Talent Fund awards are now open and will be accepted online until 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2023 for the $12.4 million in grants available this cycle.

Through this program, employers are eligible for reimbursements up to $2,000 per trainee for classroom and on-the-job training, and up to $3,500 per apprentice, with a maximum award of $500,000, for eligible training that occurs between July 17, 2023 and July 16, 2024.

 

About The Going PRO Talent Fund

Going PRO, administered by the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity and coordinated through local Michigan Works! Agency branches, awards grants to employers to assist in training, developing and retaining current and newly hired employees.

Trainings eligible for funding through Going PRO must be short-term and fill a demonstrated talent need experienced by the employer. The training must also lead to a credential for a skill that is transferable and recognized by industry. This can include customized classroom training, on-the-job training for new employees, and Department of Labor (“DOL”) registered apprenticeships.
