Jeff Osment is a Associate in Miller Johnson’s Business and Corporate section and a part of the Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) team. His practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, corporate finance and general corporate counseling for both public and privately-held businesses.

Mr. Osment provides legal counsel to private equity buyers, strategic buyers, sellers and management in all types of acquisition, disposition and investment transactions, corporate financing and general business matters.

Education, Bar and Court Admissions, Clerkships

  • Mr. Osment earned his Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School where he served as a Senior Articles Editor for The Wayne Law Review. During law school, he worked as a judicial intern for the honorable Judge Stephen Murphy, III in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, and clerked at the law firm of Williams, Williams, Rattner & Plunkett, P.C. where he worked on a number of real estate and commercial civil matters.
  • Mr. Osment earned his B.S. in Applied Engineering from Michigan State University in 2018 where he was a professional advisor to the Spartan Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Club, which later spun off into a student-run consulting firm.
  • Prior to attending law school, he worked as an engineer in the automotive industry.
  • He is also a former musician and has opened for Eddie Money, .38 Special and Grand Funk Railroad.
