Elizabeth J. Ollgaard

Elizabeth J. Ollgaard is an attorney in the firm’s Med Recovery Group and has practiced No-Fault litigation since 2008.  Ms. Ollgaard has extensive litigation experience, having handled both plaintiff and defense work throughout the State of Michigan, and is currently working with the firm’s hospital, health system, and medical provider clients seeking insurance reimbursement on patient accounts.

Medical Recovery

Ms. Ollgaard regularly represents medical providers in litigation initiated against commercial insurers regarding unpaid or underpaid medical charges.  She has successfully litigated cases throughout Michigan, including the federal and appellate courts. Ms. Ollgaard is also working in the area of health care provider reimbursement in the workers’ compensation system.

Ms. Ollgaard is a member of the Detroit Bar Association and the State Bar of Michigan.

Sterling Heights Pain Mgmt, PLC v Farm Bureau, 335 Mich App 245 (2020) (holding insurance company lacked standing to challenge whether healthcare provider is properly incorporated under the MLLCA).

Ms. Ollgaard earned her Juris Doctorate cum laude from University of Detroit Mercy School of Law in 2007.  Ms. Ollgaard was a member of Law Review, recipient of the CALI Excellence Award for achievement in Contract, was elected to the Justice Frank Murphy Honor Society, and was recipient of the Sr. Emily George R.S.M Public Interest Fellowship.  She earned her B.A. in History, with a teaching certificate, from the University of Michigan in 2001.

She is admitted to practice in the State of Michigan, the US District Court in the Eastern District of Michigan, the US District Court in the Western District of Michigan, and the US District Court in the Southern District of Indiana.
