Chelsea L. Hebert

Chelsea L. Hebert is an associate attorney in the firm’s Litigation practice with an emphasis on Medical Recovery representation for health care providers. Mrs. Hebert works on behalf of medical service providers including hospitals and physician groups seeking insurance reimbursement on patient accounts. Prior to joining Miller Johnson, Mrs. Hebert worked in general civil collections and insurance defense.

Med Recovery Litigation

Mrs. Hebert litigates complex no-fault provider Personal Injury Protection (PIP) and other insurance reimbursement cases. She conducts depositions of no-fault claims adjusters and expert witnesses, patients, service providers, and various fact witnesses to investigate coverage issues and ensure prompt payment of outstanding accounts.

She evaluates medical records, accident reconstruction reports, independent medical evaluations and expert testimony while consulting with clients to assess strengths and weaknesses of various cases and recommended courses of action. She stays up to date on the latest case law analyzing priority, domicile, constructive ownership, unlawful taking and other entitlement issues, which allows her to obtain favorable results for clients, often including interest and fees.

Professional Affiliations and Community Activities

Mrs. Hebert is a member in good standing of the State Bar of Michigan. She is active in her community and has volunteered for the Forgotten Harvest Food Bank. She has helped raise funds for the Michigan Center for Civic Education, which supports the development of critical thinking and good citizenship for high school students, and A Place of Refuge, a nonprofit organization committed to helping Michigan youth transition from foster care to adult living.

Education

Mrs. Hebert was awarded her J.D., cum laude, from Michigan State University School of Law in 2018. While in law school, she was the Associate Editor of Michigan State Law Review and Captain of the Williams Institute Moot Court Team. She earned her B.A. in Political Science from Grand Valley State University in 2015. She is admitted to practice in Michigan.
