Mike Griswold is an attorney in the firm’s immigration practice group and has 7 years of immigration experience. Mike’s experience in this area includes assisting employers with petitions on behalf of nonimmigrant workers such as H-1B, TN, and L-1 visas.

He also has significant experience with consular services abroad. Mike’s prior immigration experience includes family-based petitions and permanent resident filings, naturalization, refugee resettlement, affirmative asylum, U visas for victims of criminal activity, T visas for victims of human trafficking, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, and Special Immigrant Juvenile visas for unaccompanied minors.

Mike is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and International Law Review with the American University Washington College of Law.

Education

In 2010, Mike earned a Juris Doctorate from American University Washington College of Law. In law school, he focused on research and writing and pro bono activities at organizations such as The Brookings Institution as well as The Public International Law & Policy Group where he provided free legal assistance to parties involved in peace negotiations, drafting post-conflict constitutions, and war crimes prosecution and transitional justice. Mike earned a Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, from Hope College in 2006.  He also completed a Master of Library and Information Science at Wayne State University with an emphasis on legal information resources and services.
