Abimbola (Abi) Adekoya is an Associate in Miller Johnson’s Corporate and Mergers and Acquisitions practice group representing companies in mergers and acquisitions, commercial transactions, corporate governance and compliance matters.

Abi has extensive experience supporting businesses at every stage of their growth, from entity formation to day-to-day operations. She provides tailored legal services to clients, including contract drafting and review, finance, governance, and compliance, and offers guidance through the complexities of growing and managing a business. With a diverse client base across industries such as manufacturing, technology, and healthcare, Abi has successfully drafted and reviewed complex commercial agreements, helping businesses mitigate risks and safeguard their interests.
Mergers and Acquisitions
Abi has significant experience representing clients in buy-side and sell-side complex transactions, including mergers, stock acquisitions, and asset acquisitions. She represents closely held and family-owned businesses, private equity funds, and clients in middle-market transactions across various industries, including manufacturing, healthcare, professional services, and registered investment advisory sectors.
Corporate Finance
Abi counsels clients in connection with joint ventures, investment transactions, and corporate restructurings. She has supported partners handling joint ventures and investment transactions for clients navigating the complex issues involved in such transactions. She also represents corporate clients and financial institutions in connection with debt financings.

Abi has extensive experience representing clients in cross-border commercial transactions. Abi is a board member at the World Affairs Council of West Michigan, a trustee of the Stop the Abuse Foundation in Nigeria, an alumna of the YALI Regional Leadership Centre (RLC) West Africa.

Abi earned her Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from the University of Michigan Law School, where she received the International and Comparative Law Scholarship. She earned her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from Lagos State University, Nigeria, and received her Barrister at Law (B.L.) qualification from the Nigerian Law School with First Class Honors.
