Williams Joins Miller Johnson’s Litigation Group
Shoran Reid Williams joined Miller Johnson as a Senior Counsel in the Grand Rapids office.
Ms. Williams’ litigation practice experience extends into the areas of administrative law, civil litigation, appellate law, personal injury and family law. She has successfully obtained favorable results for her clients in state and federal courts and before government agencies.
Ms. Williams has a growing reputation as a legal advisor for business owners in the emerging cannabis hemp industry or those working with businesses in the industry. She has spoken on this burgeoning industry on topics from the U.S. 2018 Farm Bill and the pilot program in Michigan to issues that come up related to compliance, disputes, protection of trade secrets and more.
Her legal experience spans more than 25 years and ranges from in-house counsel for a Fortune 500 insurance company to law firm practices in both Georgia and Michigan to an adjunct law professor in Florida. In addition, she is a published author and has spent several years as a small business owner.
Ms. Williams earned her J.D. from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in 1994. She participated in the St. Anne’s College of Law Program at Oxford University. Ms. Williams received a Bachelor of Public Administration degree from Miami University in Ohio in 1991. She is licensed to practice in Michigan and Georgia.
