Miller Johnson Welcomes Morgan Stowell and Scott Dorsett
Grand Rapids, MI – June 30, 2025 – Miller Johnson is pleased to welcome Morgan Stowell and Scott Dorsett to our Grand Rapids office. Morgan Stowell has joined the firm as a Counsel Attorney in the Med Recovery practice while Scott Dorsett has joined as an Associate in the Litigation practice.
Ms. Stowell is an experienced litigator who focuses on complex insurance reimbursement disputes. She advocates for the recovery of medical service payments from health insurance providers and no-fault carriers. With a strong foundation in litigation and a background representing insurance agencies, Stowell brings a strategic and analytical approach to every case. Her experience includes defending insurers and related entities in a wide range of litigation matters.
Stowell is a graduate from Michigan State University College of Law where she earned her J.D. in 2019. While in law school, she was the Articles Editor of the MSU College of Law International Law Review, a student clinician at the MSU College of Law Low Income Tax Clinic, and a member of the Women’s Law Caucus. Stowell also gained experience working as a Legal Extern for the Kent County Prosecutor’s office.
Mr. Dorsett brings a wealth of experience in complex litigation matters, with a focus on privacy law, securities litigation, civil rights, and trade secret misappropriation. Dorsett has represented clients in both state and federal courts, managing all aspects of written discovery and defending numerous depositions, including those of expert witnesses. He is known for his strategic approach to litigation—working closely with clients to develop tailored defense strategies, negotiate settlements, and take cases to trial when necessary.
In addition to his litigation work, Dorsett offers clients valuable guidance on regulatory compliance and pre-litigation matters, particularly in the areas of biometric data collection and usage. His insights into the intersection of personal data, marketing, and insurance practices, as well as his experience navigating COVID-19-related regulations, make him a trusted advisor in today’s evolving legal landscape.
Dorsett earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan, double-majoring in Philosophy and English, and went on to receive his J.D. from Harvard Law School. During law school, he interned at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Michigan.
