Miller Johnson Welcomes Two New Associates to the Litigation Practice Group
GRAND RAPIDS, MI – January 6, 2025 – Miller Johnson is pleased to welcome two new Associates to our Litigation practice: Bryce Akins and Lydia Dunn.

Akins focuses his practice on commercial litigation, employment disputes, and insurance litigation. Akins earned his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law. While in law school he served as a Dean’s Fellow for Legal Communications and Research Skills II and as Charles C. Papy Moot Court Vice President – Advanced Appellate Advocacy. He also served as a judicial intern in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida with the Honorable Roy K. Altman. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.A. in Political Science & History.
Dunn focuses her practice on a variety of commercial disputes, including bankruptcy, non-competes, insurance, and supply chain litigation. Dunn earned her J.D. from Wayne State University Law School where she graduated cum laude and Order of the Coif. During law school, she was a member of the Wayne Law Moot Court, Executive Associate Articles Editor of the Wayne Law Review, and a student chairperson and competitor for the Wayne State Transactional Law Invitational. She competed nationally in the Duberstein Bankruptcy Moot Court competition and Baylor Law’s “The Closer” transactional law competition. Dunn completed a judicial externship at the Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Michigan and was a student attorney at Wayne Law’s Immigration Appellate Advocacy Clinic. She graduated from The University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Politics & Economics.
