David focuses his practice on land use and zoning, with a strong emphasis on litigation, advising clients on a wide range of development and regulatory matters. His experience includes ordinance interpretation, development approvals, rezonings, variances, and site plan reviews. He also assists clients in navigating administrative and appellate processes related to zoning decisions and property rights.
David has significant experience analyzing and litigating issues involving local ordinances, helping clients address complex challenges. He also counsels clients on regulatory compliance and municipal governance matters, including code compliance, and works closely with local governments to navigate operational and legal complexities. Known for his collaborative approach, David provides practical guidance on both day-to-day matters and long-term planning, strengthening Miller Johnson’s ability to deliver strategic, client-focused solutions in complex land use and regulatory matters.
David earned his Juris Doctor from Michigan State University College of Law and his Bachelor of Science from Robert Morris University. He is admitted to practice in the State of Michigan, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. He is also a member of the Ingham County Bar Association and the State Bar of Michigan Litigation Section.
