Miller Johnson Represents Hines Corporation in Sale of Michigan Spring and Stamping
The Transaction
Miller Johnson represented Hines Corporation in its sale of Michigan Spring and Stamping (Michigan Spring) to KERN-LIEBERS. Michigan Spring manufactures technical springs, assemblies, precision stampings and wire forms used in a variety of industries. Michigan Spring has more than 170 employees and is based in Muskegon, Michigan with locations in Texas and China. KERN-LIEBERS is a precision manufacturer based in Schramberg, Germany and describes itself as a global technology leader for the production of highly complex strip and wire parts and assemblies.
After recent expansion of Michigan Spring’s operations into China, Hines Corporation realized that, with the right resources, there were significant opportunities to further grow Michigan Spring’s international presence. The sale was driven by those international opportunities for Michigan Spring to grow and its need for more specialized support to do so, said George “Bud” Hendrick, executive vice president of corporate development at Hines Corporation.
