Malviya Honored as One of “40 Under Forty” by Grand Rapids Business Journal

Miller Johnson attorney Raj A. Malviya is one of West Michigan’s young professionals honored by the Grand Rapids Business Journal in their 2016 Class of “40 Under Forty.”

Criteria for consideration included accomplishments, and professional and community board contributions, as well as volunteer activity. Key to his inclusion are the level of diversity and inclusivity to my law practice which focuses on the unique and underserved needs of the evolving population in our region as we continue to attract global talent. Mr. Malviya is also seen a community catalyst and takes his role seriously as a steward for west Michigan talent, opportunities and excellence.

Mr. Malviya’s law practice is focused on implementing wealth transfer, asset protection, and tax planning for individuals and families and advising professionals involved in inbound transfers to the United States or outbound transfers overseas on estate and tax planning. He also represents fiduciaries and beneficiaries on various trust and estate administration matters. Mr. Malviya is a member of Miller Johnson’s estate planning, tax and international law practice groups.

Mr. Malviya received his LL.M. in Taxation, with honors, from Northwestern University School of Law, his J.D. from Valparaiso University School of Law, where he was a Charles Gromley scholar, and his B.A. from Hope College. He is named in “Best Lawyers of America®” for Trusts and Estates Law and has been selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers–Rising Stars for Estate Planning and Probate. Mr. Malviya is one of four attorneys in the country serving a two-year term as a Young Leader Fellow in the American College of Trusts and Estates College (ACTEC) and is concluding his term as a Fellow in the American Bar Association Section of Real Property, Trust and Estate (RPTE) Law. He is an active member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, the Spectrum Health Community Council and the Porter Hills Planned Giving Committee.
