Malviya and Stoppels Elected to Membership at Miller Johnson

Raj A. Malviya and Kelley E. Stoppels were elected to Membership at Miller Johnson.

Mr. Malviya’s practice is focused on implementing wealth transfer, asset protection, and tax planning for individuals and families and advising professionals involved in inbound transfers to the United States or outbound transfers overseas on estate and tax planning. He also represents fiduciaries and beneficiaries on various trust and estate administration matters. Mr. Malviya is a member of Miller Johnson’s estate planning, tax and international law practice groups.

Mr. Malviya received his LL.M. in Taxation, with honors, from Northwestern University School of Law, his J.D. from Valparaiso University School of Law (taxation concentration) and his B.A. from Hope College. He has been selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers–Rising Stars for Estate Planning and Probate. Mr. Malviya is serving a two-year term in the Fellows Program instituted by the American Bar Association Section of Real Property, Trust and Estate (RPTE) Law. He is an active member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, the Spectrum Health Community Council and the Porter Hills Retirement Community Planned Giving Council of the Porter Hills Foundation.

Kelley E. Stoppels is an attorney in the Grand Rapids office. Her areas of practice include employment and labor law, employment discrimination, management and employee training, union avoidance, and affirmative action plans. She is a member of the firm’s Employment-Health Care Practice focused on current developments and recent trends in employment and labor law which affect our numerous health care clients. She is also an active member of the OFCCP (Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs) Compliance group.

Ms. Stoppels received her law degree from the University of Michigan Law School and received a B.A. from Carleton College. She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the Grand Rapids Bar Association. Ms. Stoppels served on the Board of Directors for the Circle Theater where she now is on the play selection committee.
