Todd Holleman is a member of Miller Johnson’s Litigation Section. His practice is focused on Commercial and Appellate matters in state and federal courts.
Mr. Holleman has specific expertise in defending large publicly held corporations and their officers and directors against class action and individual claims by shareholders in connection with mergers or acquisitions or the purchase or sale of securities as well as prosecuting and defending against claims for minority shareholder oppression arising from smaller closely held companies.
In addition, Mr. Holleman has extensive experience representing domestic and foreign companies and individuals in commercial disputes. He has pursued and defended against claims related to complex business contracts covering a wide variety of subject matter, including automotive supply agreements governed by the Uniform Commercial Code, and he regularly defends against and pursues claims for the payment of sales commissions.
While Mr. Holleman received this distinction for his work in Detroit, his practice extends throughout the Midwest, as he is licensed in Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, and Wisconsin.
Barry Irwin is the founder of Irwin IP LLP and has been litigating mission-critical, high-profile intellectual property and technology matters in federal courts across the country for over 33 years.
Mr. Irwin has tried numerous competitor-versus-competitor matters for patentees and accused infringers before juries, judges and arbitrators. He has a track record of achieving successful results for clients, including seven- and eight-figure verdicts; complete defense verdicts where the patentees sought nine-figure damage awards; decisive summary judgment victories; attorney fee awards; and numerous preliminary injunctions for plaintiffs and denials of preliminary injunctions for defendants.
Mr. Irwin often works with clients in strengthening their intellectual property portfolios to protect key products, including broadening existing portfolios and securing rights to third-party intellectual property.
Jason Keener is Managing Member of Miller Johnson’s Chicago Office and Co-Chair of Miller Johnson’s Intellectual Property practice.
Mr. Keener has over 22 years of experience in litigating intellectual property and technology disputes in federal courts across the country. He has a computer science background and regularly handles cases in the software, internet, technology, and automotive fields. He regularly represents clients seeking to enforce or monetize their intellectual property assets as well as defending clients against claims of infringement asserted by both competitors and non- practicing entities.
Mr. Keener assists clients in resolving intellectual property disputes with a focus on the business goals of the client. Often this involves pre-litigation or early resolution of the dispute. However, where necessary, he leads the case through trial and any appeal, which he has successfully done for numerous clients.
