Daly Elected to Emerging Leaders Advisory Council of Special Olympics Michigan

Erik R. Daly was elected to his first two-year term on the Emerging Leaders Advisory Council of Special Olympics Michigan (SOMI).

Mr. Daly joins a group of more than a dozen professionals from across Michigan representing diverse fields and backgrounds. They utilize their skills to passionately support SOMI’s Board of Directors in achieving the organizational mission of providing year-round sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

Mr. Daly focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate financing, restructurings and securities law matters.  He has worked with clients ranging from Fortune 100 companies in their ongoing M&A initiatives, to family-owned businesses pursuing exit transactions to private equity funds implementing roll-up acquisition strategies.  Since 2014, Mr. Daly has been recognized by Chambers USA for corporate/M&A and listed as a Rising Star by Michigan Super Lawyers.

In addition to being a member of several bar associations, Mr. Daly is a member of numerous professional organizations, including local chapters of the Association for Corporate Growth and the Turnaround Management Association as well as the Economic Club of Grand Rapids and the West Michigan Sustainable Business Forum.  He earned his J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School and his B.S., summa cum laude, from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business.  He is currently licensed to practice in Michigan and Minnesota.

Special Olympics Michigan is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization headquartered in Mount Pleasant, MI. SOMI held its first State Summer Games in 1969.  Its budget is funded almost entirely by private donations, and its programs are provided at no cost to athletes or their families.  SOMI’s over 23,000 athletes have the support of more than 31,000 volunteers.  They participate in more than 24 sports year-round at six state-level competitions in addition to more than 600 local competitions.  You can learn more about Special Olympics Michigan at
