Aimee Jachym Appointed To Michigan Asian Pacific American Affairs Commission
Kalamazoo, Mich. December 19, 2024 – Miller Johnson is proud to announce that Kalamazoo attorney Aimee J. Jachym has been appointed by Governor Gretchen Whitmer to the Michigan Asian Pacific American Affairs Commission (MAPAAC). Jachym is a Member in the firm’s Corporate and Mergers & Acquisitions practice and is vice chair of the firm’s Women’s Initiative Network (WIN). She is the co-founder and board member of Korean Kids and Orphanage Outreach Mission and was a founding board member of Korean Connection in West Michigan.
Jachym earned her J.D., cum laude, from Wayne State University Law School, was a member of Law Review, received the Dean’s Scholarship and was a Lombard Fellow. She earned a B.B.A. and a B.A., magna cum laude, from Western Michigan University and was a U.S. State Department Fulbright Grant recipient to South Korea. She was a University-Endorsed Nominee for a Rhodes Scholarship and also a Medallion Scholarship recipient.
Jachym serves in the local community as a board member of Southwest Michigan First and a board member of the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra. She is also an active member of the State Bar of Michigan, listed as a Pro Bono Honor Roll Tier 1 Practitioner, and is a Fellow of the Michigan State Bar Foundation.
The Michigan Asian Pacific American Affairs Commission serves as a crucial liaison between the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) community and the state government. Under the leadership of Governor-appointed Commissioners, MAPAAC is dedicated to addressing the needs and aspirations of its constituents through advocacy, education, and community outreach efforts.
