In response to the Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v. Wade, the Department of Health and Human Services issued new regulations related to permissible uses and disclosures of protected health information that may be related to reproductive health care.  These new regulations require health plan sponsors and business associates to update their HIPAA policies and procedures, and train their workforce members.  If you deal with PHI on behalf of a health plan (either as its plan sponsor or its business associate) you should attend this training.  Tripp VanderWal will also explain how Miller Johnson is providing an update to our HIPAA kits to ensure compliance with these new requirements.
