New Vaccine Mandates and Your Workplace: What We Know, What We’re Working To Find Out
The White House has recently announced new initiatives to address the COVID-19 pandemic, including the following new directives requiring vaccination and testing of America’s workforce.
• The administration issued an Executive Order requiring all federal workers to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. The administration previously gave federal workers the option to either receive the vaccine or undergo weekly testing for COVID-19. This new step eliminates the option of testing.
• The administration announced forthcoming rules from the Department of Labor that will require employers with 100 or more workers to ensure that their workforce is either fully vaccinated, or undergoes weekly testing. The administration indicated that the full rules would be issued in a matter of weeks, and go into effect soon after.
• The administration announced that it has directed the Department of Health and Human Services to require the workforce at federal health centers to become fully vaccinated.
