Richard L. Perez practices in commercial and criminal litigation, government investigations, COVID-19 compliance and enforcement matters, immigration, and health care reimbursement.
Mr. Perez assists corporations, businesses and individuals with commercial matters, including fraud, contract disputes, and other complex litigation matters. He provides guidance on COVID-19 related issues from executive orders and local health authority guidance to liability protection.
Mr. Perez has assisted on a wide array of federal and state criminal matters, including drug crimes, operating while intoxicated (or OWI or DUI), and COVID-19 enforcement related crimes.
Mr. Perez has experience preparing employment-based visa petitions for corporations seeking to staff U.S. Business operations with skilled foreign nationals in various positions. Mr. Perez also has experience in assisting individual with family-based naturalization application.
Health Care Reimbursement
Mr. Perez works with healthcare systems and provider organizations. He pursues improperly denied claims by enforcing state and federal laws requiring prompt payment of claims by third-party payers.
Mr. Perez received his law degree, summa cum laude, from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 2019. He was recognized with the WMU Cooley Law School Leadership Achievement Award and served as Vice President of the West Michigan Student Bar Association. Mr. Perez received his B.S. in Criminal Justice from Grand Valley State University in 2015.
