Hilary Moir is an Associate in Miller Johnson’s Estate Planning practice. Ms. Moir works with families and private individual clients on their sophisticated personal, business, and financial legal needs.

Estate Planning
Ms. Moir represents clients in trust, estate, and guardianship matters. She is experienced in advising on income protection measures and succession planning to ensure client’s goals are met. Her practice is based on Miller Johnson’s principles of analyzing the client’s personal and financial situation, explaining options, and implementing a course of action by drafting documents and/or retitling assets.

Taxation
Hilary is also a Certified Public Accountant. Before joining Miller Johnson, she practiced as a tax senior associate for a large regional accounting firm assisting corporations, partnerships, and individuals comply with various tax filing requirements. She has also interned with the IRS Office Counsel in the Large Business and International Division.

Honors

Ms. Moir has been named as a Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch for Tax Law and Trusts and Estates in 2024 and 2025.

Education
Ms. Moir earned her J.D. from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law in 2021. While in law school, she was a member of the Business & Law Society, the Tax Law Society, and a volunteer in the Income Tax Assistance Program. She also worked in the School’s Community Legal Clinic providing legal services to low income individuals. Ms. Moir received her B.A., summa cum laude, in Public Accounting from Hope College in 2014. She was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, was the recipient of the Crowe Horwath LLP Outstanding Student Award and the Plante & Moran Accounting Book Award.
