Courtney is an Associate in Miller Johnson’s Corporate / Mergers and Acquisitions practice.

Courtney partners with clients across a diverse range of industries to guide them through the organization and operation of their businesses. She has extensive experience advising on entity formation and structuring, helping clients select and establish the corporate vehicles best suited to their objectives, risk profiles, and long-term growth strategies.

Courtney assists in the counseling of businesses of all sizes, from closely held and family-owned enterprises, as well as individuals and non-profit organizations. Her practice encompasses a broad spectrum of commercial agreements, corporate governance matters, and general business needs. Courtney regularly assists in the negotiation and drafting of contracts ranging from vendor and service agreements to joint venture arrangements and complex commercial transactions.

Courtney’s experience includes a secondment with the in-house legal department of an investment advisory firm, where she gained firsthand insight into the operational, strategic, and investment priorities that drive decision-making on the client side. This experience deepened her understanding of how private equity sponsors evaluate opportunities, structure transactions, and manage portfolio companies, allowing her to bring a more business-oriented perspective to her practice.

Professional Affiliations, Activities and Honors
Courtney is admitted to practice in Michigan. She is an active member and serves as secretary on the Michigan Asian Pacific American Bar Association (MAPABA) Executive Board. Courtney is also on the Board of the West Michigan Youth Ballet.

In 2025, Courtney was selected as a Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) Pathfinder. The LCLD Pathfinder Program is designed for diverse, high-potential, early-career attorneys at LCLD Member organizations. Prior to joining Miller Johnson, Courtney also participated in the Grand Rapids Bar Floyd Skinner Minority Clerkship program.

Courtney also co-authored the article titled “Building Professional Relationships In Our New Virtual Reality” which was published in The Grand Rapids Lawyer.

Education, Bar and Court Admissions, Clerkships
Courtney is a graduate from Indiana University Maurer School of Law where she earned her J.D. in 2022. While attending the Maurer School of Law, Courtney was a member of the Indiana Journal of Law & Social Equality, the Business Law Society, as well as the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association. Courtney received a B.A. degree in International Relations and Chinese from Michigan State University in 2018. Courtney attended the James Madison College while at Michigan State University.
