David is an associate in the Real Estate Practice Group whose practice primarily focuses on land use and zoning litigation.

Land Use and Zoning:

David’s land use and zoning practice is driven by his litigation focus, representing clients in disputes over ordinance interpretation, development approvals, rezonings, variances, and site plan reviews. He also works to secure local approvals on behalf of clients, appearing before planning commissions, zoning boards, and other municipal bodies to position projects for approval. His practice also extends to the administrative and appellate processes connected to zoning decisions.

Public Law and Government Affairs:

David guides private individuals and businesses through the laws that govern how local governments operate, including the Michigan Open Meetings Act and the Freedom of Information Act. Having represented clients in the public sector, he brings firsthand insight into municipal governance, code compliance, and the constitutional issues that arise under local ordinances and regulations.

Litigation: 

David maintains an active litigation practice in both state and federal court throughout Michigan.

Professional Affiliations, Activities and Honors:

David is a member of the Ingham County Bar Association and the State Bar of Michigan Litigation Section.

Education, Background, and Court Admissions:

David earned his B.S. from Robert Morris University in 2019, where he also served as Captain of the Division I Men’s Golf Team.  He went on to receive his J.D. from Michigan State University College of Law in 2022, earning jurisprudence awards in Property Law, Secured Transactions, and Constitutional Law.  While in law school, David also gained valuable experience as an intern for the Honorable Muriel D. Hughes of the Wayne County Circuit Court and for Justice David F. Viviano of the Michigan Supreme Court.  A member of the State Bar of Michigan, he is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
