Codie Lynn Burt
Codie Lynn Burt is an attorney in Miller Johnson’s Kalamazoo office and part of the firm’s Corporate and Mergers and Acquisitions practice group. Codie represents companies in mergers and acquisitions, commercial transactions, corporate governance and compliance matters.

Codie has extensive experience supporting businesses at every stage of their growth, from entity formation to day-to-day operations. She provides tailored legal services to clients, including contract drafting and review, finance, governance, and compliance, and offers guidance through the complexities of growing and managing a business. With a diverse client base across industries such as agriculture, hospitality industry, development and construction, technology, real estate, and healthcare. Codie has successfully drafted and reviewed complex commercial agreements, helping businesses mitigate risks and safeguard their interests.
Professional Affiliations, Activities and Honors
As an active member of her community, Codie has chosen to be a BIG through Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Southwest Michigan and has been matched with her Little since the beginning of 2016. In addition to being a BIG, Codie is currently a member of the Big Brother Big Sisters Leadership Committee, serves on the Bowl for Kids’ Sake Event Committee and assists with the Annual Matchmaker Breakfast.
Codie served as Board Member and Secretary for the EPIC Center in Kalamazoo and is currently the President of the Board. Additionally, she is a Board Member-Vice President of the KZOO Spartans Alumni and Chair of the Annual Charity Golf Outing Committee, Board Member on the Kalamazoo County Bar Association as well as on various committees with the Kalamazoo County Bar Association.
Education
Codie Lynn Burt graduated with her Juris Doctor from Michigan State University College of Law in the spring of 2021 (Go Green!) and subsequently was admitted to the Michigan State Bar in November 2021. During her law school career, Codie was a peer mentor in the Reading, Writing and Analysis Department for the law school, gained her certificate to become a Civil Facilitative Mediator and worked in-house as a legal intern at Jackson National Life Insurance Company before starting her career as an attorney.
