Alexander S. Bennett
Alexander (“Alex”) Serkan Bennett is an Associate of the firm and has been practicing law since 2022. His practice areas include primarily utility and design patent litigation, but also intellectual property counseling. Alex is a former chemical engineer who worked both in the automotive and chemical manufacturing industries.

Alex works with clients of all sizes, from individuals to Fortune 500 companies. His clients operate in a range of industries, including automotive, dental, software, and veterans’ benefits.
Alex has represented a major automotive parts distributor in both complex, software utility patent litigation and design patent litigation. He has successfully argued before both the magistrate and district court judge. He has taken a deposition and second-chaired dozens of depositions of experts and fact witnesses.

Alex belongs to the Illinois State Bar Association. Alex has also been recognized as a 2025 Rising Star by Super Lawyers.
Community Activities
Alex is an assistant coach for the Chicago-Kent Trial Advocacy program ranked #9 by U.S. News & World Report (2024 Rankings).
Alex is a teaching assistant for Intro to Patent Law and Patent Litigation at Notre Dame School of Law.
Alex is also a volunteer attorney for the Veterans Consortium Pro Bono Program providing free legal support for veterans in their appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veteran’s Claims.
Education
Alex received his law degree in 2022 from Chicago-Kent College of Law and his undergraduate degree in 2016 from Auburn University.
