ADA and FMLA Basics

This is an introductory level presentation to help familiarize new HR professionals and more seasoned HR professionals who just want a refresher about all the basic ADA & FMLA requirements.

ADA – We will discuss/examine:

  • the disability definition
  • reasonable accommodation definitions and mechanics
  • the interactive process

FMLA – We will discuss/examine:

  • eligibility requirements
  • serious health care definitions
  • paperwork and process requirements
  • leave types

ADA & FMLA Coordination – We will help you:

  • become more comfortable with general ADA & FMLA analysis
  • be better able to coordinate the ADA & FMLA obligations
  • understand when the ADA & FMLA matter is sufficiently complicated that you should seek additional outside guidance and support
